Seaford Town F.C.
Seaford Town Football Club is an amateur club from Seaford, East Sussex, England. They play at The Crouch and are nicknamed The Badgers. They currently compete in the Southern Combination Premier Division after finishing top of Division One in 2024–25.
Founded in 1888 as Seaford F.C., they are considered the successor to an earlier club, Seaford Rovers. They won the Sussex Junior Cup in 1910. The World Wars interrupted football here, with the pitch even dug up during WWI.
After the war they played in the Mid Sussex League and won the Montgomery Cup in 1936 and 1939. In 1952 they became founding members of the Sussex County League. They reached Division One in 1963–64, with their best finish of fourth in 1965–66, and stayed in the top division until 1971. They left the League in 1978, came back in 1983 as a founder member of Division Three, which they won in 1985–86. They then won Division Two in 1988–89 to return to Division One, but were relegated in 1991 and again in 1992–93 and 1996–97.
After spells in the East Sussex League, they returned to the County League and merged with Seaford Seagulls youth teams, becoming Seaford Town in 2005. They were promoted to Division Two in 2000–01; their best finish since then was sixth in 2004–05 and 2006–07. Floodlights were installed in 2007–08, enabling FA Vase participation. The club is amateur, run by volunteers, with a youth section from under 8s to under 18s.
Chair Sarah Scott (since Jan 2023) and Vice Chair Craig Pooley. They will play their first FA Cup in 2025–26. Home ground: The Crouch, Bramber Lane, Seaford.
