Sandra Vilanova
Sandra Vilanova Tous, born January 1, 1981 in Barcelona, is a Spanish football midfielder who played for Espanyol in the Primera División. She spent much of her career with Levante UD, Rayo Vallecano, Atlético Madrid, and Espanyol. She won three league titles and five national cups in total: two league titles and four cups with Levante, one league title with Rayo Vallecano, and one cup with Espanyol. She also played in the UEFA Women's Champions League with Levante and Rayo.
Vilanova earned 46 caps for the Spain women's national team and scored two goals, serving as captain for about ten years. She captained Spain at the 2013 European Championship, then retired, but returned to Espanyol in 2014. She suffered an ACL injury in March 2015. Raised in UE Castellar near Barcelona, she began her senior career with Platges de Calvià in 1997 before moving to Levante in 2001, where she spent most of her career.
