Sami Saari, also known as Sami-Jussi Saari, is a Finnish soul musician born on 21 January 1962 in Tampere, Finland. He sings and has been active since 1982. Saari has released six solo studio albums and has been part of groups including Veeti & the Velvets, Aki Sirkesalo ja Lemmen jättiläiset, and Sami Saari & Cosmosonic. Often nicknamed the "King of Finnish Soul," he has worked with artists outside his genre, such as Anna Puu, Elastinen, and Cheek, blending soul with pop, rock and blues.
