Sam Davies (footballer, born 1894)
Samuel Herbert Davies (5 November 1894 – 1972) was a Welsh amateur footballer who played as a left back. Born in Wrexham, he spent his club career in the Scottish League with Queen's Park (1921–1922, 37 appearances, 2 goals) and Morton (1922–1924, 23 appearances). He later joined Manchester United in 1924 but did not make a league appearance, and he played for Crewe Alexandra in 1927 (3 appearances). He also had spells with Altrincham and Sandbach Ramblers. Internationally, Davies was capped once for Wales at amateur level in 1922.
