Ronald Eddy
Ronald E. F. Eddy (born c. 1931) is a Canadian politician from Ontario. He grew up on a farm near Brantford and worked as a farmer and municipal administrator. He served as clerk-administrator in Wentworth County (1955–1973) and in Middlesex County (1974–1992). He was reeve of South Dumfries Township (1978–1991) and a Brant County councillor. Eddy was elected to the Ontario Legislative Assembly as a Liberal for Brant—Haldimand in a 1992 by-election and served until 1995, when he lost to Peter Preston. In 1999 he became mayor of the County of Brant, a role he held until 2018. He has held leadership roles with municipal organizations, including as president of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario, and in 1990 he was president of an international plowing competition. He serves on the Brant County Power board and is vice-president of the Children's Aid Society of Brant. He resides in Paris, Ontario, and has three children. Municipal politics are non-partisan.
