Roger Ferdinand
Roger Ferdinand (Roger Maurice Ferdinand) was a French playwright and screenwriter. He was born on 8 October 1898 in Saint-Lô, France, and died on 31 December 1967 in Palaiseau, France, at the age of 69. He became very popular in the late 1940s and 1950s with his play Les J3. Many of his plays were adapted for film, and eight were performed on television on the program Au théâtre ce soir between 1966 and 1982. He served as president of the SACD from 1946 to 1955 and then led the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique from 1955 to 1967. He is buried in Saint-Lô. The municipal theater there is named after him, and in Palaiseau a street and a school bear his name. He was married to Jeanne Huvet.
