Roberto Schaan Ferreira
Roberto Schaan Ferreira is a Brazilian writer born in Passo Fundo in 1958 and raised in Rincao do Inferno. He is best known for the books Por que os ponchos são negros? and Deus estava longe. His work is tied to Rio Grande do Sul and is considered an important example of regional Brazilian literature. Por que os ponchos são negros? was nominated for the São Paulo Prize for Literature. He is also a lawyer and judge.
