Riechedly Bazoer
Riechedly Guillermo Bazoer, born on 12 October 1996 in Utrecht, Netherlands, is a professional footballer who plays as a centre-back or defensive midfielder for the Turkish club Konyaspor. He is 1.84 meters tall and wears number 20 for his current team. Although born in the Netherlands, he now represents Curaçao at the international level.
Bazoer started in youth football with USV Elinkwijk, then moved to PSV and later joined Ajax in 2012 on a free transfer. He could not play for Ajax’s first team immediately due to age rules, so he began with Jong Ajax and made his early appearances in the Beloften Eredivisie. He made his Ajax first-team debut in a pre-season match in June 2013 and his professional debut in the Eerste Divisie with Jong Ajax in August 2013.
He spent his early senior years with Ajax (2013–2017) before transferring to VfL Wolfsburg in 2017. He had a loan spell with Porto B and Porto in 2018–2019 and a loan to Utrecht in 2019. In July 2019 he joined Vitesse on a permanent deal, where he became a key player and was named Vitesse’s Player of the Season for 2020–21.
In August 2022, Bazoer joined AZ on a free transfer and stayed there until moving to Konyaspor in September 2024 on a two-year deal. His time at Vitesse helped him mature, and he continued to be a versatile defender in the following years.
Internationally, Bazoer represented the Netherlands at several youth levels and earned his senior debut in November 2015 in a match against Wales. In August 2025, FIFA approved his switch from the Netherlands to Curaçao. He made his Curaçao senior debut on 5 September 2025 in a 0–0 draw with Trinidad and Tobago.
