Rhododendron serrulatum
Rhododendron serrulatum, the hammocksweet azalea, is a flowering shrub in the heath family (Ericaceae). It is native to the southeastern United States, especially Alabama, Georgia, and Florida, and it may also occur in parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, the Carolinas, and Virginia. The plant is deciduous and grows about 0.6 to 1.8 meters tall. It typically lives in wet places such as bogs, pocosins, and wet flatwoods. It has been known by several names, including Azalea serrulata and Rhododendron viscosum var. serrulatum.
