Rafael Paz
Rafael “Rafa” Paz Marín (born 2 August 1965) is a retired Spanish footballer who played mainly as a right midfielder. He was born in Puebla de Don Fadrique, Granada.
Paz began his career in the youth system of CP Granada 74 and joined Sevilla as a young player. He spent most of his career at Sevilla, where he played 340 league games and scored 25 goals from 1984 to 1997. In the 1989-90 season he scored six goals, helping Sevilla finish sixth in La Liga and reach the UEFA Cup.
After Sevilla was relegated in 1997, Paz moved to Mexico to play for Celaya for one season, appearing 14 times and scoring once.
Internationally, Paz represented Spain at youth levels and earned seven senior caps in 1990. He was part of the Spain squad for the 1990 FIFA World Cup and played in two matches. His first senior appearance came on 21 February 1990 in a friendly against Czechoslovakia.
