Raam (Southwest Papua)
Raam (also spelled Ram) is a small Indonesian island in Southwest Papua. It lies off the northwestern tip of New Guinea’s Bird’s Head Peninsula, about 2 kilometers from Sorong city and about 5 kilometers north of the Doom and Soop islands. The island is roughly 1.6 km long and up to 0.5 km wide, with an area of about 0.5 square kilometers. The eastern half has a settlement where about 2,078 people lived in mid-2021, forming a kelurahan in the Sorong Islands district of the City of Sorong. The coastline is around 4 km, and the highest point is 65 meters above sea level. Coordinates: 0°50′17″S 131°12′50″E.
