Pineda, Guerrero
Pineda is a small village in the Coyuca de Catalán municipality, Guerrero, Mexico. It sits in the Tierra Caliente region at about 360 meters above sea level. The area is around 18.167°N, 100.750°W. The village’s history goes back to the Talistaca, an indigenous group. After the Spanish arrived, the Pineda family built haciendas on Talistaca lands, and the settlement grew into a village named for them. In 2005, 842 people lived there (413 men and 429 women).
