Phyllomya
Phyllomya is a genus of tachinid flies in the family Tachinidae. It belongs to the subfamily Dexiinae and the tribe Voriini, and was described by Robineau-Desvoidy in 1830. The type species is Musca volvulus, described by Fabricius in 1794, now known as Phyllomya volvulus.
The genus has many historical synonyms used in scientific literature, including Gibsonomyia, Metopomintho, Neadmontia, Ocypterosoma, Phyllomyia, Pseudomorinia, Sericocera, Hypostena, Melania, Chorega, Melanota, Hipostena, and Cerodesma.
