Philodendron mamei is a plant native to Ecuador. It was first collected by Europeans in 1882 and has long been grown as a houseplant. The plant grows along the ground with creeping, low stems. Its leaves are matte dark green with gray-green spots and are heart-shaped. In the wild, it lives in the eastern Andes of Ecuador at elevations of about 731 to 1,830 meters (2,398–6,004 ft). It has also been introduced to the Cook Islands and Society Islands, where it has become invasive.
