Phanerochaete velutina
Phanerochaete velutina is a fungus that acts as a plant pathogen, infecting peach and nectarine trees. It belongs to the genus Phanerochaete in the family Phanerochaetaceae, order Polyporales, class Agaricomycetes, division Basidiomycota, and kingdom Fungi. The species name is velutina, and its full scientific name is Phanerochaete velutina (DC.) Parmasto (1968). Over time it has been described under many different names, including Athelia velutina, Corticium velutinum, Grandiniella velutina, Hymenochaete velutina, Hypochnus velutinus, Kneiffia velutina, Membranicium velutina, Peniophora velutina, Peniophora scotica, and Thelephora velutina.
