Perinaldo is a small town (comune) in Liguria, Italy, in the Province of Imperia. It lies about 120 km southwest of Genoa and about 30 km west of Imperia. The town covers 21 square kilometers and sits at 572 meters above sea level. As of December 31, 2007, about 918 people lived there (the Perinaldesi). The postal code is 18032 and the area code is 0184. Perinaldo is recognized as one of Italy’s most beautiful villages (I Borghi più belli d'Italia). It is the birthplace of Giovanni Domenico Cassini, a 17th-century astronomer who became French. In Ligurian, the town is known as Pȓeiñaudu or Preinoud.
