Pedro Jirón
Pedro José Jirón Rugama, known as Peche Jirón (18 December 1939 – 7 September 2018), was a Nicaraguan footballer who played as a midfielder. He spent his entire club career with Diriangén from 1958 to 1973, and was captain for eight years. He helped Diriangén win three league titles.
He captained the Nicaragua national team for six years and played in the 1967 CONCACAF Championship, where Nicaragua finished sixth. Renowned for his leadership and skill, he left a lasting mark on Nicaraguan football. On 9 February 1995, he was inducted into the Nicaraguan Sports Hall of Fame. He passed away in Diriamba, Nicaragua.
