Papua Act 1905
The Papua Act 1905 was a law passed by the Australian Parliament to bring the territory of Papua under Australian control. It transferred Papua from the United Kingdom to Australia and made Papua an external territory of the Commonwealth. The long title stated that the Act was to accept British New Guinea as a Commonwealth territory and to govern it.
