Ophichthus serpentinus
Ophichthus serpentinus, commonly known as the slender snake-eel in South Africa, is a marine eel in the worm/snake eel family Ophichthidae. It was described by Alvin Seale in 1917. This subtropical eel lives in the southeastern Atlantic Ocean, including waters off Namibia and South Africa, at depths of 235 to 490 meters. Males can reach up to 68 centimeters in length.
