One Night in Idaho: The College Murders is a four‑part American documentary series directed by Liz Garbus and Matthew Galkin. Katie A. King is the showrunner. The series premiered on July 11, 2025, on Amazon Prime Video and each episode runs about 42–43 minutes.

The show looks at the 2022 University of Idaho killings, following the families and friends of the victims. It features the first interviews with the parents of Ethan Chapin and Madison Mogen. Garbus and Galkin began filming after reaching out to the Chapin and Laramie families, choosing a victim-focused approach. The Kernodle and Goncalves families chose not to participate. The series also explores how social media sleuthing affected the families.

In 2023, Skydance Television optioned The Idaho Four: An American Tragedy (a book by James Patterson and Vicky Ward) to create a documentary series, but the project was not based on the book—only research and access were shared. In 2024, Amazon Prime Video was set to distribute the series, with Garbus and Galkin directing. The show is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television, Story Syndicate, Fairhaven, and James Patterson Entertainment, among others.
