Olof Sundby, born Carl Olof Werner Sundby on December 6, 1917, in Karlskoga, Sweden, was a Swedish bishop in the Church of Sweden. He was ordained a priest in 1943 and earned a Doctor of Theology in 1959. He served as a parish priest in Lund from 1960 to 1970.

He became bishop of Växjö in 1970 and then archbishop of Uppsala, the Primate of Sweden, in 1972. He remained archbishop until 1983. As archbishop, he led the Swedish Ecumenical Committee (1972–1983) and played a major role in global church work, serving as President of the World Council of Churches (1975–1983) and as chair of the Lutheran World Federation Executive Council (1973–1977).

He was married to Brigitta Sundby and studied at Lund University. He died on December 6, 1996, in Lund and is buried at Klosterkyrkogården.
