Old Kilmun House
Old Kilmun House is a historic two-storey house on Midge Lane in Kilmun, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It was built in the early 1700s using stone from an older building and sits on foothills overlooking the Holy Loch.
The house is Category A listed, designated on 1 October 1992. It has a six-bay, classical design with an unusually asymmetrical front, which Historic Environment Scotland regards as one of the parish’s most important buildings and of national significance. The early part of the building is rubble with sandstone dressing, while a later block is fine ashlar.
The rear was extended in the 19th century, and there are additions from the early 20th century at the southwest corner. A large addition was added to the northwest corner in the late 19th century. The garden and boundary walls are also Category A listed. Two large buildings to the west were demolished by the end of the 19th century. Part of the garden was used for the Kilmun Parish Church cemetery and the Argyll Mausoleum.
