Nothobranchius lourensi
Nothobranchius lourensi is a small killifish in the Nothobranchiidae family. It is found only in the floodplain of the Ruvu River in eastern Tanzania, living in temporary pools that form during the rains. The species was first collected by Jan Lourens, a biologist with the United Nations Development Programme in Dar es Salaam, and is named in his honor. It is listed as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List (IUCN 3.1).
