Nothing Yet
Nothing Yet is the second studio album by American indie surf rock band Surf Curse. It was released on January 13, 2017, by Danger Collective and was recorded in 2016 at Snackhouse Productions in Los Angeles. The album runs 24 minutes and 52 seconds.
The band says Nothing Yet reflects their love of films, with the track "The Strange and the Kind" described as something that could fit on a modern Dazed and Confused soundtrack.
Reception was mixed to positive. Ilana Tel-Oren of TheIndiecation called it an anthem for millennials and praised its cohesive yet distinctive sound. Maggie Ewing of Melted Magazine liked the nostalgia and live energy, but felt the recording quality was slicker than their earlier work. Jon Fuchs of ACRN gave it 9/10, calling it the band’s best release yet and praising the opener "Christine F." and the track "All Is Lost." Kayla Fernandez of Afterlife Magazine said it’s perfect for relaxing and noted the band’s growth from previous releases, also recommending live shows.
All tracks were written by Nick Rattigan and Jacob Rubeck. Nothing Yet sits between Buds (2013) and Heaven Surrounds You (2019) in Surf Curse’s discography.
