Northern Jutland (Danish: Nørrejylland) is a historical region in Denmark. It is the part of the Jutland peninsula that lies north of the Kongeå river; the area south of the Kongeå is called Southern Jutland (Sønderjylland). In the Middle Ages, Northern Jutland had its own assembly, the ting, in Viborg. Today the area is covered by the North Jutland Region, the Central Denmark Region (excluding the island of Samsø), and the northern part of the Region of Southern Denmark.
