Nava Rozolyo
Nava Rozolyo is an Israeli lawyer and social activist born on June 17, 1986, in Jerusalem. She is known for leading protests against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel’s 37th government. She started the online group “Shame Brigades” (also called Shame Patrols) to organize protests against judicial reform.
Rozolyo grew up in a religious Zionist family and is the eldest of four children. She says she began questioning religion at 16 and eventually left it. Her army service exposed her to secular life, and she studied at The Hebrew University, where she earned an LLB in law and a BA in accounting. She is a vegetarian.
Her protest work began during the Balfour Protests in 2020–2021 amid the COVID pandemic, where she realized she could be an active part of society and that she hadn’t voted before. She investigated the Submarine Scandal and believed Netanyahu had harmed Israel for his own benefit.
On March 1, 2023, after justice minister Yariv Levin announced judicial reforms, Rozolyo founded Shame Brigades and started organizing protests at the homes and venues of government ministers, often at short notice, drawing large crowds. She has said her goal is to dismantle the 37th government, have some leaders tried and imprisoned, and to restore democracy in Israel. She frequently represents protesters at Knesset commissions.
In November 2024, Channel 14 said she claimed to have appealed to the International Criminal Court to speed up arrest warrants for Netanyahu; Rozolyo denied this, saying the movement’s goal is to mobilize international action, not to file with the ICC. In March 2025 she led a protest at the Jerusalem grand opening of a new train station attended by Netanyahu and Transport Minister Miri Regev.
In 2024 Rozolyo and others filed a 2.4 million shekel lawsuit against Yinon Magal for publishing their personal numbers, harassment, and slander. In May 2024, Yair Netanyahu sought a restraining order against Rozolyo, which the court denied. In March 2025, Sara Netanyahu filed for a restraining order against Rozolyo and journalist Uri Misgav; the order was later reversed in May 2025. A libel suit against Rozolyo by Shmulik Silman was dismissed in May 2025. In April 2025, the head of Shin Bet mentioned Rozolyo in an affidavit as someone Netanyahu asked to “take care of.” In May 2025, Netanyahu testified that he had filed a lawsuit against Rozolyo.
