NGC 1273
NGC 1273 is a lenticular galaxy in the constellation Perseus. It lies about 245–246 million light-years away and is a member of the Perseus Cluster. The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Heinrich d'Arrest on February 14, 1863. Other names for NGC 1273 include CGCG 540-99, MCG 7-7-59, and PGC 12396. It has a redshift of about 0.01797 and a heliocentric radial velocity of roughly 5,387 km/s. Its apparent magnitude is 14.27, making it a fairly faint object. NGC 1273 is about 95,000 light-years across, and its apparent size is roughly 1.1 by 1.1 arcminutes.
