My Very Last Breath
My Very Last Breath is the eighth Emo Diaries compilation, released July 23, 2002 by Deep Elm Records. The album runs 47 minutes and 42 seconds and blends emo and indie rock. Like other Emo Diaries releases, it used an open submissions policy, so the tracks come from mostly unsigned bands and include songs that hadn’t been released before. Some moments push boundaries, such as The Colour Blue’s “Of Our Disregard” with a sax solo, but overall the collection is strong. AllMusic’s Johnny Loftus says it features some of the most melodic and tightly arranged material the series has seen. This installment sits between Me Against the World (2002) and Sad Songs Remind Me (2003) in the series.
