Mussahi District is a southern district of Kabul Province in Afghanistan, about 25 kilometers south of Kabul city. It borders Char Asiab District to the west, Bagrami District to the north, Khaki Jabbar District to the east, and Logar Province to the south. The district’s main town is Mussahi village, located at the center of the district. Mussahi became its own district in 2001; before that it was part of Char Asiab and was mainly an agricultural area.

Demography: In 2015, the population was about 23,900. The UNHCR estimated around 60,000 people in 2018. The population is predominantly Pashtun, with a Tajik minority.

Economy and geography: The district is largely agricultural. Major crops include wheat, onions, potatoes, tomatoes, and other vegetables. Many residents also raise small numbers of cows, sheep, and chickens for home use. The Logar River runs through Mussahi, dividing it into Bara Mussahi and Kuza Mussahi. Mussahi comprises about 67 villages; some of the larger ones are Qishlaq Bala, Said Khail, Shahid Khanh, Mayan Khail, Di Kalan, Qultaghan, Qali AbdulRaouf, Alo Khail, Payanda Khail, Qishlaq Paeem, Charso, Haji Malang Baba, Chino Ghundi, Rahmatabad, Chaman Qala, and others.

Landmarks and notes: Guldara stupa, located in the Guldara valley (Flowers Valley), dates back to the 2nd century and was built by the Kushan empire. Chino Ghundi is a well-known national park and has been a tourism site since 1965.

Security: On November 17, 2009, Afghan and NATO forces arrested 12 militants in Mussahi suspected of anti-government activities.
