Mummy: The Curse is a tabletop role-playing game in the Chronicles of Darkness. It was created by C.A. Suleiman and published by Onyx Path Publishing. The first edition released on March 27, 2013, and a second edition by Matthew Dawkins followed on September 15, 2021.

The game uses the Storytelling System. Players are mummies, ancient servants of sorcerers who once ruled the empire of Irem. Mummies have eternal life and move between awake periods and long sleeps, often forgetting who they are. The game master shapes key events from the characters’ pasts, which players don’t know.

During character creation, players join a guild and pick other traits that affect how they see the world and what they can do. To use powers, characters need occult energy found in relics from Irem that are hidden around the world since the empire fell.

The first edition was funded on Kickstarter, aiming for $30,000 and raising over $104,000. The 2021 edition is a stand-alone rulebook, so you don’t need other books to play; the first edition required the World of Darkness core book.
