Mounagiri Hanuman Temple
Mounagiri Hanuman Temple is a Hindu temple near the Bengaluru–Hyderabad Highway in Hampapuram Village, Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and celebrates festivals such as Hanuman Jayanthi and Sri Ramanavami. The temple’s design follows traditional Hindu architecture inspired by Vastu Shastra and Pancharatra Shastra.
The temple was founded by Sri Eswaraiah Swamy, head of the Mounagiri Global Trust and Philosophical Society. About 500 volunteers helped 1,000 artisans build it. The central Hanuman idol cost around ₹90 lakh to sculpt, and the main monument is 39 feet (12 meters) tall, carved from a single stone.
Construction is ongoing and progressing slowly due to financial difficulties; donors are being sought to finish the project. The temple sits on NH 44 in Hampapuram Village, about 7.4 km from Rapthadu Mandal, Ananthapuramu district. The nearest railhead is Anantapur railway station (12.6 km away) and the Sri Sathya Sai Airport in Puttaparthi is about 71 km away. Buses connect the temple from across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Bengaluru, and Chennai. The temple was consecrated on 6 November 2010.
