Morgan Draw is a movable railroad bridge in central New Jersey. It spans Cheesequake Creek, connecting the Morgan area of Sayreville with Laurence Harbor in Old Bridge Township, Middlesex County. The bridge carries New Jersey Transit's North Jersey Coast Line passenger trains and also serves Conrail freight traffic. It is owned by NJ Transit Rail Operations and is a bascule (draw) bridge. The current structure was built in 1912, designed by Harry L. Thomas and built by Scherzer Rolling Lift Bridge Co. The six-span bridge has a longest span of 79 feet, five piers in the water, and 3-foot clearance below. It underwent rehabilitation from 2005 to 2008 and was damaged by Hurricane Sandy in 2012, after which it was repaired. The bridge opens on signal, with occasional overnight restrictions requiring advance notice. It sits near the mouth of Cheesequake Creek on the Raritan Bay, just upstream of Route 35.
