Michael Amushelelo is a Namibian politician and activist. He is a member of the Namibian Economic Freedom Fighters and works on workers’ rights.

He was born on January 21, 1991, in Oniipa, Northern Namibia, and grew up in Windhoek. He went to Moses van der Byl Primary School and finished at Concordia College.

Amushelelo rose to prominence in 2021 when he joined the Namibian Economic Freedom Fighters. In early 2022, he was arrested outside China Town in Windhoek after a solo protest and closing Chinese-owned shops; he was released after several court appearances. In 2023, he was arrested again in Katutura after leading unemployment protests on Namibia’s Independence Day, arguing that many Namibians need jobs rather than celebrations.

In 2022, he accused Police Chief Joseph Shikongo of using state power to shield himself from prosecution after a deadly accident. In 2024, he set a fire outside the Ministry of Labour offices, saying the ministry had ignored workers’ issues.
