Metalegoceratidae is an extinct family of ammonoids, shelled cephalopods related to squids, belemnites, octopuses, and cuttlefish, and more distantly to nautiloids. It belongs to the order Goniatitida within the superfamily Neoicoceratoidea. The family was named by Ruzhencev in 1956. Genera in this family include Bransonoceras, Juresanites, Metalegoceras, Parametalegoceras, Pseudometalegoceras, and Pseudoschistoceras. Metalegoceratidae is one of eleven families in Neoicoceratoidea. These organisms lived in ancient seas and are known from fossil records.
