Melong, Cameroon
Melong is a community in Cameroon, located on the N5 road north of Nkongsamba. It sits about 790 meters above sea level in the South West Region. In 2012, the population was about 71,189. The area has volcanic, fertile soil and was once covered by rainforest. The local people are the Mbo'o, a Sawa group living in the Littoral and South West Regions. Melong includes several villages, such as Melong Center, Mouanguel, Mbouroukou, Mboussoum, Mankwa, and Nsanke. The region is good for farming. Nearby attractions include the twin Manengouba lakes and the Ekom Nkam waterfalls on the River Nkam.
