Meishe River National Wetland Park
Meishe River National Wetland Park is an eco-park in Haikou, Hainan, China, along the Meishe River. It sits on the north side of Yehai Avenue, about 1.5 km east of Haikou East railway station. The park covers 14,000 square meters and opened in 2018; it was built in about nine months around 2017 on a former waste dump. The area is a terraced landscape with eight levels, the largest terraced wetland in China. The park helps clean water, treating 5,000 to 8,000 metric tons of household sewage each day. It is now a green urban oasis with water plants like water lilies and irises, and many waterfowl such as egrets. The park is open year-round.
