Matthew 12:13

Matthew 12:13 tells how Jesus healed a man with a withered right hand on the Sabbath. Jesus asks the man to stand in the middle of the crowd and stretch out his hand. The man does, and Jesus restores the hand. The miracle shows that doing good for others is allowed on the Sabbath, even if some religious leaders disagree. The same story is told in Mark 3:3 and Luke 6:8 with the man obeying Jesus’ instruction and the healing taking place. Early Christian writers saw the event as a demonstration of Jesus’ power to heal by his word and a reminder that mercy matters more than strict rules.
