Mary Lazarus
Mary Lazarus is a Nigerian actress and movie producer. She was born on May 5 in Lagos State and comes from Ukwa East in Abia State. She is from a family of nine and has a twin brother named Joseph.
She studied Geography at the University of Ibadan and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography. Lazarus began her career as a model in 2002 and entered Nollywood in 2009 with the movie Waiting Years, after being introduced to director John Njamah by Gbenro Ajibade.
She has acted in many films and directed and produced her own movie, Dance To My Beat, in 2017. She has also appeared in Airtel and MTN commercials.
In 2018, she won the City People Movie Award for Most Promising Actress of the Year (English) and the award for Most Peaceful Actress of the Year. She was also nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Best of Nollywood Awards in 2018.
Her role models are Nollywood veterans Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and Joke Silva, and she admires American actress Kimberly Elise for her body of work. Mary describes herself as a fun-loving person.
