Mark Smith (British racing driver)
Mark Smith (born around 1965) is a British auto racing driver from Hednesford, Staffordshire. He raced mainly in VW cars before BTCC, winning the Tomcat Vento Challenge in 2000 and finishing as runner-up in the VW Racing Cup in 2005.
In 2006 he competed in the British Touring Car Championship for his family team, In-Front Motorsport, in an Alfa Romeo 156. Pre-season gearbox problems meant the car arrived as a kit rather than a ready-to-run unit; the team started the first race with an old H-pattern gearbox and skipped the second round. They did not score a top-ten finish and did not return in 2007, despite securing sponsorship from Jessops and appearing at the Autosport International Show.
His final BTCC season result was 23rd place with 0 points.
