Marcos Raúl Montero Álvarez (19 September 1970 – 30 September 2020) was a Bolivian journalist, TV presenter, and radio host. He was born in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. He began his career as a radio host at Radio Antena Uno and studied communication at the Bolivian Catholic University, later earning a postgraduate journalism degree at UTEPSA. In 1997 he joined Red UNO, starting as a reporter, then becoming a TV presenter, later heading content and finally the national press. He won the BISA Prize for Journalism in 2010. He also served as a jury member for Miss Santa Cruz 2017. He left Red UNO on 29 April 2020 after 23 years with the channel. In May 2020 he tested positive for COVID-19 and was hospitalized in intensive care. His colleagues asked for plasma donations from recovered patients. After more than four months in hospital, he died on 30 September 2020 at the age of 50.
