Mangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (MESCOM) is a government-owned public utility that distributes electricity in four districts of Karnataka: Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikkamagaluru, and Shivamogga (Shimoga). Its headquarters are in Mangaluru (MESCOM Bhavan, Kavoor Cross Road, Bejai).

MESCOM was formed in June 2002 after the Karnataka Electricity Board was reorganized to separate transmission from distribution. Transmission is handled by the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL), while the distribution network is operated by the Electricity Supply Companies (ESCOMs), including MESCOM. In 2005, CESCOM was carved out of MESCOM to serve the Mysore region.

The company runs 14 divisions and 63 subdivisions. A notable achievement is MESCOM’s use of drones to lay electricity lines across the Kumaradhara river. As of November 2017, MESCOM served about 2.27 million customers, with roughly 756 km of 33 kV lines and about 34,508 km of 11 kV lines. Online bill payment is available to customers.

MESCOM faces challenges during the Southwest monsoon (June–September), when heavy rains can damage infrastructure. It also reports shortages of linemen, which affect maintenance and reliable power supply.
