Maloi
Maloi, born Mary Loi Yves Ricalde on May 27, 2002, in Lemery, Batangas, Philippines, is a Filipino singer, performer, and actress. She is best known as a main vocalist of the girl group Bini, under Star Music.
She started singing at age three and was active in school choirs and activities. Her group won three gold medals representing the Philippines at a choral competition in Malaysia in 2018. She studied at the Japan-Philippines Institute of Technology and later pursued studies in communications at Thames International School, a path she was following as of 2025.
Maloi began her career as a Star Hunt Academy trainee in 2019 and joined Bini in 2020. She co-wrote the rap part for Bini’s 2021 song “Kinikilig.” In 2023 she appeared in Rob Deniel’s music video for “RomCom,” and in 2024 she became a regular judge on Tawag ng Tanghalan Kids on It’s Showtime. She also acted in Maki’s “Dilaw” video in 2024 and performed with Ogie Alcasid at his concerts, including a 2023 performance and a 2024 onstage appearance in Manila.
Maloi is known for a distinctive fashion style that has been dubbed "Maloi-core" by publications like Vogue Philippines, Billboard Philippines, and Nylon Manila. Her look often includes red Bayonetta-style glasses and playful, colorful outfits. She won Female TikTok Face of the Year at the VP Choice Awards in 2025, and her fan event “Everything Everywhere Maloi at Once” drew hundreds of attendees.
Beyond singing, Maloi is a digital artist. She creates paintings, designed the cover artwork for Bini’s single “Shagidi” in 2025, and has showcased her art in performances such as her Biniverse segment. She has been featured as a style icon by fashion and lifestyle outlets.
Personal notes: Maloi lives with her parents and three siblings in General Trias, and she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome in 2024. In December 2024, she held an outreach program at a children’s facility in Tondo with her fans.
