Magdalena Aicega (full name María Magdalena Aicega Amicarelli), born 1 November 1973 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a retired Argentine field hockey player who played as a central defender. She is regarded as one of Las Leonas’ most notable players, starring for Argentina for more than 15 years.

Aicega began playing for Belgrano Athletic Club at age 7, debuted with the senior team seven years later, and then spent 33 years with Belgrano. She first wore the national team jersey at 16 and retired from the national team in 2008. In 2019 she left Belgrano as a player and moved into coaching, leading Belgrano’s youth divisions. In August 2023, at age 49, she announced a return to play for Belgrano in a promotion/relegation tournament, but the club was relegated to the second division.

Her international success with Argentina includes an Olympic silver medal in Sydney 2000, and bronze medals in Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008. She helped Argentina win the 2002 World Cup, two Champions Trophy titles, and four gold medals at the Pan American Games, along with the Pan American Cup in 2001. She was part of the squad that won gold at the 1993 Junior World Cup.

Individual honors include the Silver Olimpia Award (1998 and 2003), a nomination for the FIH World Player of the Year in 1999, and the Konex Award in 2000. After retiring from playing, she worked as a sports commentator for TNT Argentina and briefly served as director of ENARD in 2017. She also holds a degree in nutrition.
