Luke Richardson (strength athlete)
Luke Richardson (born 20 June 1997) is a British powerlifter and strongman from Harrogate. He started as a powerlifter and won the 2018 Junior European Championship for the 120kg+ class. He and Pavlo Nakonechnyy both totaled 1,010.5 kg, but Richardson won on bodyweight.
He later moved into strongman and won Europe’s Strongest Man in 2020, becoming the competition’s youngest winner. He finished 9th at the World’s Strongest Man in 2020 and withdrew from the 2021 event after injuring his distal biceps during a loading medley in a qualifying heat.
In 2023 he became England’s Strongest Man. In 2024 he earned two Giants Live podiums (World Open and World Tour Finals). In 2025 he won Europe’s Strongest Man again and claimed the World Tour Finals title. He has also competed in Britain’s Strongest Man events, with 4th place in 2020 and 11th in 2025.
