Louise Bishop
Louise E. Williams Bishop (born June 27, 1933) is a former Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. She represented the 192nd district from January 3, 1989, to December 16, 2015. She was born in Cairo, Georgia, and lived in Philadelphia.
Bishop has worked in radio broadcasting for many years. She is credited with helping to keep Philadelphia calm after the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. in April 1968. She was inducted into the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia Hall of Fame in 2013. In 1964, using the stage name Lois Lane, she released the single Turn Me Loose on Wand Records.
She resigned from the Pennsylvania House on December 16, 2015, amid corruption allegations.
