List of peers and fidalgos in Portuguese India

Portugal granted titles and coats of arms in Portuguese Goa to notable people, including native Goans. After the 5 October 1910 revolution and the start of the Portuguese Republic, these titles lost legal recognition. A fidalgo is a Portuguese noble title given to certain Goans who were lawyers, merchants, or diplomats and who were Christians considered part of the Portuguese nobility. The fidalgos described here have hereditary status. This rank is above baronet and similar to the Spanish Hidalgo, while a baronet is a commoner even though the title is hereditary. However, a fidalgo ranks below a Baron.
