Belarus has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film (formerly Best Foreign Language Film) since 1994. The award is presented every year by the U.S. Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature film produced outside the United States with primarily non-English dialogue. The category began in 1956.

Before Belarus’s independence, the Soviet Union submitted Come and See (1985) on behalf of Belarus, but it was not nominated.

As of 2025, Belarus has submitted five films, but none have been nominated. The submissions are reviewed by the Academy’s Foreign Language Film Award Committee, which selects five nominees after evaluating all entries.

In 1994 and 1996, Belarus submitted Jewish-themed films about relations between Polish Jews and Christians around World War II. Me Ivan, You Abraham centers on the friendship between two boys in the 1930s. From Hell to Hell follows two families—one Jewish, one Christian—and the tragedy that unfolds during the war. Neither film was a majority Belarusian production nor directed by a Belarusian (the creators were French and Russian).

After a 22-year gap, Belarus returned in 2018 with Crystal Swan, a comedy-drama about a young woman trying to obtain a U.S. visa to become a DJ in Chicago. The film premiered at the 2018 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

The list below shows the Belarusian submissions by year for the Academy Awards.
