Leni Shida (born 22 May 1994 in Arua, Uganda) is a Ugandan sprinter who competes in the 200 m and 400 m. She studied at Bugema University and is 1.73 m tall, weighing about 56 kg. Her coaches are Kevin and Sue O’Connor, who began working with her in August 2013.

Shida first competed outside Uganda at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where she reached the semifinals in the 400 m. In February 2018, she set Uganda’s 400 m national record with a time of 52.47 in Kampala, breaking the previous record that had stood for 12 years. She has since broken the national 400 m record seven times, most recently with 51.47 at the 2019 National Championships. At that event she also set Uganda’s 200 m national record with 23.43.

Her notable international result is a silver medal in the 400 m (51.64) at the 2019 World University Games in Naples, Italy. Shida represented Uganda at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Her father is Abdulatif Tiyua, a retired military officer and former deputy commander of the West Nile Bank Front rebel group.
