Legion TD is a series of auto battler video games.

Legion TD 1
- Origin: A Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne mod created by Lisk in the late 2000s and later open-sourced. It was also localized into Chinese and updated by Su Shui.
- How it’s played: The game supports 2, 4, 6, or 8 players split into two teams. It blends PvP and tower defense in a turn-based format. During a round, players spend gold to deploy soldiers to defend their own immobile king and spend lumber to deploy soldiers to attack the opponent’s king. Gold can be used to buy lumber-harvesting wisps, and lumber can upgrade the king’s weapons.
- Key idea: The game builds a self-sustaining economy where hiring wisps with gold increases lumber income, and spending lumber increases gold income.

Legion TD 2
- Standalone game: Legion TD 2 is a separate game by AutoAttack Games (New Zealand), released on November 20, 2017. It no longer requires Warcraft III.
- How it’s played: It keeps the core gameplay of Legion TD but replaces lumber with “Crystals.” The game features 8 factions, each with 6 unit types.
- Performance: It is not well optimized and can have stuttering and disconnects, so many players still prefer the original Warcraft III-based Legion TD.

Impact
- Legion TD is considered a foundational work in the auto-battler genre and influenced later games in the style, including titles like Clash Royale and Teamfight Tactics.
