The lantern minnow (Tampichthys ipni) is a small freshwater fish in the minnow family Leuciscidae. It is found only in Mexico (endemic). Its scientific name is Tampichthys ipni, and it was first described in 1953 by Álvarez and Navarro. Synonyms include Notropis ipni and Dionda ipni. The lantern minnow is listed as Least Concern by the IUCN, meaning it is not currently at high risk of extinction.
